I love spiders but my housemate would have a fit if he saw them. I make a habit of throwing the spiders I find at him.

They can get really big cant they ?
i remember once searching for something that was big enough to put over one yet light enough to pick up once i had slid some paper underneath it ( and something that wouldnt break lol once i threw it outisde)

we have a corner like that behind our sofa - and they climb behind the cushions then just when your bogg-eyed watchin tv you see a shadow movin by your head - and then you let out that really stupid scream that you couldnt do again if you tried

I just pick em up with my hands. Easier to move around that way.

ewww - its not the spiders that fr5ighten me its that they make me jump when they suddenly set off- my god daughter was petrified by one of these once - it kept jumping towards her - you can imagine the scene the girl her mum and me all letting out those horrific involuntary screams as we tried to catch it - oh dear i think i need help

I don't know what it is about spiders that I hate, but I do!
Scream, freeze, run a mile
Until the kids are near 1!
Then I'm ok and it's not like I'm frightened of them anymore
Quite wierd really

Re: and now time for something a little different...(warning - shoking image!)

there a bit hard to catch there on that corner (ive tried, the blighters are just too darned quick!)

Think one is a female and one is a male cos they're both differnt colours (although thats the limit of my spider knowledge)

Dont normally mind them, the other half hates them, but as long as they keep out of the way and eat all the nasties that may get in the beams or behind the walls then they can stay there for me (as long as the Mrs doesnt see them, then they get hoovered up!)

Just thought id share that - never seen two huge ones together!!

Spiders are OK. They eat all the other nasty things you could have if you didn't have spiders.

I had a beauty living under my sink last year, she was massive and I named her Aragog. Unfortunately, I accidentally sucked her up the dyson when she was out for a stroll.. I miss Aragog, she kept lots of other nasties at bay (she must have done..... you don't get that big without eating)..
