Instead of wanting to rebury the departed pooch, it is more likely that having got boozed up, they found their local take-away closed.

No, must have been premeditated ... they did have tools with them wouldn't need spoons for the local take-away.

It is apparently not unusual for people to dig up dead dogs and take them with them when they move house. I suppose having been evicted it wouldn't have been possible to have done so legitimately so hence the barmy escapade with spoons. I wonder how deep they managed to get.

I once buried a pet by digging a hole with a spoon. I wasn't drunk though. I'm guessing I shouldn't be saying that like I'm proud but I am actually swelling up with pride. I was crying my eyes out as well, sobbing uncontrollably. I probably looked a right mess.

And yes, I would be tempted to dig up the box when I move house just to see if its still there. In fact, I get tempted to do it every now and again... and as I dont have a trowel i'd probably use a spoon again
