Annual Cost of things

Take a guess a what costs the most in Hyndburn.

10,568 Street lights
Maintaining 367km of roads (228 miles)
5 Libraries and mobile libraries
Trading Standards
106 Children being looked after through foster care
10 supported bus routes

So all the above added together or

365 adults looked after in residential homes.

Re: Annual Cost of things

Presumably 365 adults, but looking at it logically if we gave them all 1km of road to look after they would help to pay off their keep

Re: Annual Cost of things

Dunno but I figured out recently that 4 cups of coffee per day at work at 25p a time-- If I was to spend every day of the year at work and not having a break at all, it would be £365!

The top lot comes to - £7,715,000

For the Care - £11,673,000

(source some stuff that came with my CT bill).

£31,980 Per adult, per year, does this seem expensive? or am I missing something?

Ok ... I'm a little confused 365 adults looked after in residential homes ... why? Are these old folks ... Ooops Senior Citizens ... do they have medical problems ... ? Would they be otherwise homeless?

Presumably from your comment you or somebody close to you has needed care either in a care home or via home care and you have felt let down by the care provided. Have you complained to the relevant bodies and if not why not?

yes bernadette i've had personal experiences with carers both in the home and care home staff an as for me feeling let down by the care provided thats a slight under statement.as for complaining there might be criminal proceedings in the near future because as much as i wanted to deal with it in my own way i did it above board so to speak

Re: Annual Cost of things

I'm still not sure what the payments are for I could have gotten the information from Mr. Google. Damned funny those perfect tenses, eh ... especially for the irregular verbs. Seems to me that, in many cases, Lancashire dialect is closer to "correct" English than is contemporary usage. I'll have to think about that ... either do some research, or have a beer. Think I'll go for the beer.

How's that going to work then ? Considering you don't want anything from the man & you don't feel obliged to put into the pot. What with you being a freeman & all that other stuff.

Genuinely curious.

ok i wanted to kick his backside for a choice of better words.
The demon i can summon in a instant was rattling at the cage but i contolled it.
and by "putting into the pot" im assuming you mean council tax? (i cringe typing the words ) i may engage the services of the local peace officers since after all thats why they are there
remember everythings free....... except the book which costs for printing and publishing
