Re: Another Hypocrite
I notice also, that since his brother stabbed him in the back, Millipede Snr. has made £500,000 from speaking engagements, at a cool £20,000 a day. No wonder he is not too anxious to unseat brother Wallace.

I think you have dropped on another matter altogether, it has been eluded to in earlier posts. Politicians filling their boots, some even have second jobs that only involve one day a month and get paid pots of cash from companies, I think more to secure favors politically.
I think politicians should only be just that, and not on the board of this or that.
A true socialist in my opinion is Dennis Skinner, yet he is called a dinosaur by the Prime Minister, make of that what you will

what makes you think he was a good man to begin with he was obvioulsy lying to get our votes but when the crunch came he stabbed everyone in the back and quite blatantly with no sign of regret infact he pretty much acted as though he had done nothing wrong when he eventually tried to justify what he did

Re: Another Hypocrite
He seemed to have the respect of those in his ward.....he seemed to do a good job for his ward constituents........I think it was that, which lulled the electorate of Hyndburn into thinking he would be worth a shot.
Some lessons have to be learned the hard way.
Oh yes, and a bad man wouldn't bother about trying to justify anything.

Re: Another Hypocrite
Wilson, Callaghan. Healey, Kinnock, Hattersley and Prescott.
All these so called Labour men are two faced hypocrites.

I think that comment is unfair.
What are you basing your assumption that he is greedy for power and money on?

Re: Another Hypocrite
Well, Neil, my assumption that he is greedy for power is based on the ract that he kow towed to the party instead of following his constituents wishes on the chance to have a referendum on Europe....believing that 95% of the electorate couldn't give a toss about Europe.
He wanted to maintain his position in the party, rather than jeopardising this to follow his constituents wishes.
Everyone knows that ultimately, more power equates to more money.
I feel sure that while in Westmisnter he is making contacts in order to feather his nest should his time in that place come to a sudden and untimely end(like at the next election).
That is the justification for my statement. I say it as I see it........just my opinion.

Er...the fact that for years MP's fought tooth and nail to keep their expenses secret.
Giving the feeble excuse that it was a 'security risk' if they were published.
They were only made known to the public because they were leaked.
If politicans had their way we'd be none the wiser, and still funding all their fiddles.

As for power crazed, and eager to climb the greasy political pole of success.
We only have to look at Graham Jones.
Publicly stating an EU referendum would 'settle the issue democratically'.
Two short weeks later.
Ignoring all the evidence that people wanted their say on Europe, deciding to be loyal to his party, rather than his constituents, and their right to have a say in their future.

It would appear he is more interested in pleasing adenoid Ed than the people who elected him, after all the people who elected him won't give him a piggy back up the ministerial ladder will they.

Can't see where Cameron did that he was always pro staying in Europe, unlike the dishonourable member for Hyndburn
