I agree I think a lot of it is due to having no respect for life or anything or anyone. I dont think that watching films or playing violent video games is to blame, if the children knew right from wrong in the first place it wouldn't happen.

Quite agree, Mancie. By the way, are you same "Mancie" who was telling us on here just a few weeks ago that "the 70's, 80's. 90's were no more violent than today"? A U-turn that your hero, Tony Bliar, would indeed be proud of!

It is the same thing that has been here and anywhere else in the world but it has come to an attitude were kids (KIDS) not 30yr old teddy boys or skinheads.. have got into their heads that they can use bats, lumps of wood, or any weapon to attack someone and expect them to just be wounded for a few days.

You dangled the bait you answer you own question mancie. Just what do you wish me to say and i'll aggree with you, were you born awkward or have you just decided to be a public nuicance.

Now that is what I call common sense, these kids did not 'invent' this culture in this country, why they have I do not know so stop asking me the obvious, and tell us where you think it emanated from mancie.

Re: Another kid killed
The more violence you watch, the less shocking it becomes and so in effect it is almost seen as 'normal'....so I stand by my earlier post.

Wynonie in our day you fought with your fists only, you did not even put the boot in as this was considered a cowardly act, going round shooting and knifing folk did not happen as well you know, where this guy gets off is a mystery to me?

Very true Margaret! When I watched these little kids gunning down "gang-bangers," I told them that they shouldn't be shooting people like that. I mean there was blood and guts and all. They responded that it was okay " cause those dudes have guns and they woulda shot me. My guy is the good citizen !"
My thought is where do I start in retraining just these two little kids and/or their grandparents. I'm planning on talking to the Pastor about it first though.

I abhor the use of violence in play......I will not buy toy guns, swords or other weapons for my daughters little boy. such behaviour learned at an early age becomes ingrained.

Hi Brian it's not often these days that I loose it, but mancie can sometimes talk sense, and I like the man but I have tried without success to give my opinion, if im wrong I will be the first to admit it, No I have no intention to go back to the 'old' me but thank's for the reminder.

MY mum wouldn't buy us guns for that reason and for the basic expense. However, I'm sure she was dismayed to find us all using various sticks as guns. Hey, how else were we to "play" cops and robbers or cowboys and indians?
One thing about the old Ian was the dander that he could raise. Gosh did he tick most everyone off at least 10 - 20 times. Maybe we could have a special "grunpy" for a day. Be interesting on some of those slow Accyweb days eh?

Quite agree, Ian, this is what I keep trying to say. I knew a fair few of the hardmen around town in the 60's (and Cashman did too!). You messed with them at your peril, but they would not attack an innocent bystander, knives were rare and guns were completely unknown!
