Another lost dog, water st area of accrington

Hi, a friend's daughter has lost her dog, last Tues in the Water Street area of ACCRINGTON.

Its a black and tan chihuahua/Jack Russell and answers to the name of SPUD.

They have tried the usual things so far, police, dog warden, but no news as yet.

If anyone could help, she would be really grateful - (please pm me)

Thanks

Atarah

Been told that it was last seen on Surrey Street at the top of Water Street. It then went down Stanley Street where it was running around. It wouldn't come over, it ran off. It then appeared in the back alley of Water St and Essex Street. Again it wouldn't allow the driver to pick it up. This was 12 days ago (14 Jan)?

HAS SPUD BEEN CHIPPED

OMG, I completely missed that first time round. That is hilarious

Seriously now, thanks g.gones. Have told friend's daughter what you have told us. I think they should do a "flyer" campaign and go up and down the streets you have mentioned with a photo and contact telephone number. What say you? And dont think the dog HAS been chipped afterall. (Notice I didnt mention the dogs name in that sentence!)

I had best keep quiet, I usually upset dog owners.

Have you got a photo of Spud? I found a dog last week on Owen Street, it looked like a little Jack Russell. I put him in my front yard, couldn't bring him in as he was getting frisky with my own dog, I rang the police and the RSPCA but when I went back he had gone. The police didn't phone me back and the RSPCA said they would log it in case anyone rang up. He didn't have a colar on.

Re: Another lost dog, water st area of accrington

Your description does sound like the dog I saw, he was very small - I thought he was a puppy at first until he cocked his leg. He was black and tan too so it does sound like it was him. I feel sooooo guilty that I didn't do more - I just had such a nightmare at the RSPCA last time I found a dog and I was rushing to get to work and couldn't have taken him.

The RSPCA expect you to take any found dogs to them where they scan them. Its then up to you to return it to their owner. And if it isn't chipped you have to take it yourself to the Stray Dog Centre in Ossy. It's ridiculous.

So I just put him in my front yard and rang the RSPCA who told me I shouldn't encourage him into the home, and I also rang the police who didn't answer and I left them a message. They didn't reply. I really do hope he is found soon and I will look out for him on my travels.
