Are you drunk? What exactly is the purpose of the kitchen extension at the rear? To make butties for the hard working shop workers? It's not going to be a kitchen for anybody living above. This is a food joint, simple, but whether eat in or takeaway, I don't know.

Re: Another one bites the dust
yeah it did a bit but sorted now .With regards to mr foy i dont think he is the type who is used to people disagreeing with him.The point about planning law is a valid one though but it just seems that if objections are raised, sometimes they are swept aside even if valid if it suits hbc.

Re: Another one bites the dust
It says with retail with living accomodation so the kitchen will be for the residents. Some people have big families you know

So will they be installing a dumb waiter or what? Unlikely, and I can't see food being hand carried upstairs..it's crazy. This is going to be a fast food joint. No doubt in a few months time the owners will be applying for retrospective planning permission.

Exactly Lancsdave. Let's face it, this is the style of all our little shops ... they lived on the premises, with retail shop at the front. Most of ground floor required for stock, back for domestic purposes i.e. the kitchen extension.
Will watch carefully, Tealeaf, for another change of use just for you ...

Oh ... come on ... still loads of pubs. Presume that the pubs on Blackburn Road are not now a good catchment area for imbibers of alcohol...
