Are you a politician? You did'nt answer my question. And some people may have more than two suitcases if going away for an extended period, what would you do then because cases with wheels would'nt make a difference ? I assume you only have two hands, unless your from the Rossendale valley

This is the split of ownership of Manchester Airport the company is known as MAG (Manchester airport group)The Manchester Airports Group Plc (MAG) is the country’s largest UK-owned airport operator. Their four airports - Manchester, East Midlands, Bournemouth and Humberside – currently serve a total of over 23.9 million passengers every year. And as you can see it is a plc so i doubt many of the council tax payers of Greater Manchester see much of the money it makes.
|
As I've already said, get the facts right.
"Manchester Airports Group is registered as a public limited company (plc) but the local authority owns all of its shares. The shares are not quoted, or available to buy, on the Stock Exchange. MAG pays dividends to its shareholders (the ten local authorities) and reinvests some of the profits into the company."
http://www.magworld.co.uk/gcsebusine...ownership.html
I can't see how the money they make doesn't go back into the councils' coffers to run local services.

Well its kinda needed if you go shopping so no and supermarkets are in direct competition while sometimes not even being a mile apart so dont want an excuse to drive you to a competitor so its not going to happen. But not always if you go the airport most cases have wheels most people take one each and if i was going away for a longer period id pay the quid its a quid for god sake ive seen trollies you pay for and they also seem better quality and its not as if i can go away for a long period every week.

Its not the cost which is the issue its the principle, it shows yet again that we the plebs are being shafted all ends up for any and what bit of spare money we might or might not have as the saying goes "born free taxed to death".

As i said ive seen paid for ones and they seem better quality. Not all people need them so why shouldnt the ones that do pay for rental on a product that needs maintaining?

They may get some i admit, but i would be surprised if by the time the councils have finished divvying up the profits they will have wasted most of it on knitting groups and flashmobs, this is local government after all

Re: Another Rip Off?
supermarket ... you have to put the £1 or the token in .. but you get it back when you take the trolley back. So when at the airport .. you put the quid in .. when you take it back you wont get the quid back .. so as you've paid for the trolley ..why not take it to the nearest scrap dealers .. you might get more than your quid back!!! well you have paid for it ...
and has anyone thought if theyre coming back from holiday if they have english money on them ...

Are you not paying for maintenance already? when using the airport, the airline does'nt ask you for a tenner for the aircraft maintenance when you get on your flight do they? Its a while since i was on a plane so i may have missed this development

Re: Another Rip Off?
It is a while since I used the airport but even 4 years ago they were ripping off the public in the catering prices they charge.
As Cashy said - loo charges will be next.
