Anyone got £150k to spare?

I've just read in the Acc Obs that HBC is looking for funding to develop the masterplan for Accrington Town Centre.

For what?

Yes, that's right the money is simply for the consultants to tell us what we already know. Apparently, they'll then turn it into a blueprint for the town centre to attract businesses in.

This is side by side another article that says that there's going to be a further £250k spent on Broadway to do the top bit up to Abbey St.

They would have the money if they cut their expenses down.

Maybe if HBC had promoted economic growth they would have got a share of the £2million windfall from the government currently being shared out between Blackburn Darwen, Pendle, Burnley, Ribble valley and Chorley. As reported in last nights Telegraph.

thats the way things are done nowdays. Shame they didn't do this before starting on broadway though, from what I've seen of it I don't think a lot of it at all. It has no theme, no design, no interest. It's very 80's city scape to me.
