Re: Anyone heard from the NHS dentists?
best option I've heard is a friend who goes out on hols to india every year and gets all her teeth done. She's had crown and bridge work and they've done a damn good job too for the cost of 1 filling here, yep thats 1 filling!!! Amazing isn;t it

Re: Anyone heard from the NHS dentists?
the thing that i find most disgusting is that even if a person has some savings and can raise the money to pay for a private dentist they cant claim back the percentage that the nhs would have paid anyway
it shouldnt matter where you get the work done you should always be able to claim back what the nhs should be paying after all thats why we pay national insurance

Re: Anyone heard from the NHS dentists?
I know its hard and the NHS should be put to task for its incompetence but as I sit here with a gob that is numb having just returned from the dentist, you know the Americans love thier dentist, I pay $117 every 2 weeks for health (inc dental) insurance, every vist you co pay $50, I had to have a deep cleaning, you know us Brits only go when we need too. Anyhoo the cost of the deep clean was $970 of which I paid $230, yes even with insurance I paid 230 bucks for a deep cleaning which the dental assistant/ Hygeneist does if you convert it at 2 to the pound thats 115 quid to get your teeth cleaned, stick with NHS it will be worth the wait.

Re: Anyone heard from the NHS dentists?
Has anyone had any appointments with the new NHS dentists.....or heard anything at all from them.
I just want to know if I should start fretting about getting an appointment soon......or whether my appointment will be a Christmas present....!

Re: Anyone heard from the NHS dentists?
I think they have looked at my form and seen that I have not been seen for 40 years and they think it won't matter if I wait another 40.
Janet, I am definitely not brave enough to phone up and ask what is going on......I filled the form in.....now I'll just wait!
Glad you got a pleasant dentist though.

Re: Anyone heard from the NHS dentists?
Well at least there is a NHS dentist in Accy so many are turning private that 10,000 yes 10,000 have been de-registered in Aberdeenshire. Its all going to the dogs paying for an NHS service you cannot get. Where do we go from here? Over to France and have it done on an E11?
