Maragaret, interesting you say that. When the cabinet system we now have in local government replaced the old committee system, it was suggested then that it would turn into a megalomaniacs charter. In the wrong hands of course.

Neil. The information that Andrew asked about me, he didn't need to use F.O.I If he had asked me I would have told him. I sure that a lot of other councillors would have done likewise.

3 things;
1) PB never liked my Uncle, Ian Ormerod either, despite the fact he was a damn fine councillor and worked tirelessly for his constituents.
2) I will be voting Labour next time around, and I will vote for Greg Pope for as long as he stands as MP for Hyndburn, because he is a decent, trustworthy, honourable man , the alternative is too awful to contemplate.
3) Where has turkishdelight gone?

This is true I requested a location myself.
Britcliffe maybe right on the other point because there is one up Arden Hall unless it's been stolen or burnt up.
All the bins must be in Britcliffes ward because that's where all the s*** seems to come from.

I am sure you are right and they would. By publishing it on the website it would be done once a year and save everyone the time and effort when it is asked later on.
Just an idea for openess thats all.

Maybe using the FOI Act is good for the work he is doing.

Re: Anyone made a secret Freedom Of Info request about me ? Andrew?
I've just finished reading all of the thread.
The thing that sticks out most to me is how very scared all of the politicians are. They move at the speed of Lewis Hamilton to defend themselves, their party, and any other politician within their party as soon as there is but a sniff of potential question of their integrity or worth as a public servant.
They start to defend things that aren't even being questioned, which in itself cannot do anything but breed suspicion.
I am an average resident in Hyndburn with an average knowledge of local politics - one of the majority it would seem. The politicians that have posted on this thread come across so very badly in my eyes. I shan't vote for any of them, should the chance arise. They propone party politics instead of challenging the mindless mess of Google Page Ranking made by politicians they themselves criticise such as Peter Britcliffe.
For the first time in my life I am admiring the Conservative party for staying away from public bickering such as this as it makes them seem like (note my choice of words) they are concentrating on doing what is important.
Mr Jones, you have made a fool of yourself very publicly. Your actions are reminiscent of a small child in a schoolyard being asked about an incident: "But Miss, you're not asking all the other children, you're targeting me and you hate me and I want my mummy".
I find it not hilarious, but saddening and embarrassing how honest and simple research for a bachelor's degree - clearly without angle or conspiracy - has offended the Labour politicians so much. I see them repeating the phrase "you could've asked me that". Ask yourself why are you seen as so untrustworthy as not to be asked. That's my view, but I'd hazard a guess that Andrew does not have the time to ask evey single councillor personally about the information he requested. Obtaining the FOI was the easiest way of getting the information, clearly.
I shan't debate with any of the politicians on here, as they are supposed to be representatives. Therefore they should be listening very carefully to our views instead of trying to 'correct' them at every turn.

If the information hadn't been requested by an active member of a political party, who it seems has had a vendetta against the leader of another political party, ever since the Daily Telegraph story about Hyndburn having an expensive Council Tax blah, blah, blah, then I could perhaps take your point.
Since we all know Andrew is just as keen to score cheap points in the silly game that's become local politics, as the opposition, it's naive to see his actions as that of an innocent.

I feel im being discriminated against as a Hyndburn resident just because im related to another member by some of the slurs on here by some not all. If i wasnt a strong confident out going person i would surely feel intimadated by this act.I view this as the ultimate way to sore CHEAP POINTS, and view it as very unprofessional.

Nobody is discriminating against you in anyway. Just debated the issue of you answering on here as his mum, not letting him fight his own battles, which he will need to do if he is following a career in politics.
You were also shot down for daring to complain about politics when you seemed to have absolutely no knowledge of what was going on in your own town, or even your own ward, just as any apathetic would be in the same instance. but then lo and behold you had a sudden awakening within the space of a few hours.
You came on to help Andrew's corner and all you did was show yourself up. The "point scoring" against you was mainly on those issues, not the main issue of this thread
