Yes, but don't you realise it's only a small price to pay for 'excellence'?

When will you realise that: - We have mostly band A and band B housing in Accrington (80%).
- Naturally we have a low average wage, and people live in those band A and B houses.
- The Daily Telegraph article quotes band D (that's two to three bands higher than most residents).
The percentage of income looks high, because of reason 1, 2 and 3 combined. Namely that people don't live in band D housing. People don't pay band D prices.
Accrington is not a band D predominant area. Accrington residents do not mostly pay band D rates. Hardly any of them pay band D rates.
How do you expect people to trust you with the borough when you either,
A) Still don't have a clue what I'm on about
or
B) Still refuse to admit you're wrong and try to mislead people.

I think that you've posted that long winded argument before.
The Daily Telegraph worked out we were the most expensive borough in the country because they think we don't we have any money and live under gooseberry bushes, and they thought we lived in great big castles.
Sadly it's just the headlines that remain in people's minds, and how much of their hard earned income they're having to fork out to pay their bills, for the privilege of being ruled by a council of 'excellence'.

There's another one who doesn't understand the complexities of local government.
It's a good job we've got you to explain it all simply to us.
Now be a good lad and run off and make me a cup of tea.

I have posted the argument before. I suppose it's long winded, but that's the difference between truth in detail and just referencing newspaper headlines to mislead the public. Fact is it's not the most expensive council at all. Shame Labour don't have the bottle to admit it. They'll just continue misleading people to try and get votes. Shameful!

So is there a difference in referencing newspapers and TV?
Take your post number two in tenants thread, Saturday
Was that truth or were you just sumising to get at the Labour goverment?
Maybe you should get the truth first before advising.

If the story in the Daily Telegraph was wrong or libellous, I'm sure people would have much more respect for your argument if you sued them. I'm sure you'd receive party backing for help with funds. Or even if you went down to their offices in Buckingham Palace Road in London, and chained yourself to the railings, railings hung with a big banner proclaiming the newspaper liars.
I'll pm you the details of a very good restaurant in nearby Basil Street in Knightsbridge, not five minutes walk from there. Two courses, glass of wine, change from a tenner.
If you decide not to follow that course of action, I'd let the people paying their bills in Hyndburn decide as to the strength of the story that appeared in the press, for I fear you're flooging a dead horse.
In keep rattling on about it it may just be confirming the story in their minds.

As did the Daily Mail.
Strange lot that stable of Tory newspapers, you never know if you can trust 'em.

Sorry at what point did I say that the newspaper worked the figures out wrong? Not a single time did I. No wonder I have to keep flogging it, if you can't read it the first time around.
Sure the people decided last election to throw our Labours misleading propaganda. For some reason they're still continuing. I'll keep informing people because I think it's fair that people be informed, even if it is a complex issue and its much easier for Labour to just mislead people and claim we have the most expensive council.

Er...so, let's see if we've got this riight.
The Daily Telegraph newspaper, which ran the story in the first instance, published the article that stated that Hyndbrurn had the most expensive Council Tax in in the county, and hadn't arrived at that findings by working it out incorrectly?
Which meant what they printed was all perfectly true, and therefore not libellous.
Which was therefore the reason you neither suedthem, nor launched a campaign against this most of conservative of newspapers, branding them as liars, and making yourself a cause célèbre, and someone prepared to publicly take on injustice and lies?
All as clear as mud.
As long as the mud is made up of something you'd rather not see as being mud...or even acknowledge that mud sticks.
It's all so 'complex', if you're a bit dim, like myself.
