Apologising for Christmas??
We were just watching Granada North West, the last item was about shops starting to sell Christmas things already and showed Chrismas cards, decorations etc,.
At the end of the item the lady announcer said something like 'We apologise in advance for any offence the last item may have caused'.
Tell me I've got it wrong! Tell me I've misheard or misunderstood what she meant!

Every year we end up apologising for Christmas, perhaps it's time we abandoned it forever?
(May I be the first to wish you all a thrilling time for this years Winter break?).

She was probably apologising for the fact that they were already starting to sell Christmas cards and so on which frankly I find bloody offensive that the retailers are already starting this! I think Sainsbury's will start putting some stuff on the shelves in the next week or 2!

Re: Apologising for Christmas??
They've commercialised Christmas?
No way!
Get out of the stable!
How many Cristmas trees did Jesus trim, or how many were on his Christmas card list?
Most Christmas 'traditions' only date back to the nineteenth century, mainly of Germanic origin.
Besides, before anyone get's their Santa's Little Helper knickers in a twist, it's widely acknowleged Jesus was born in the month we know as September.
Merry Christmas.

Re: Apologising for Christmas??
She was probably apologising because she had mentioned Christmas during the Eid celebrations.
