Re: are you for or against ?
Guinness,
I agree.
Im not a environmentalist, Im a supporter of nuclear power.
But nuclear power on the whole is regulated and governed to a high standard.
In the USA and potentially in Britain, the same regulation is not in place for fracking.
The situation in the USA is clear in my opinion - there is no problems with the local water supply, then the fracking begins and water supply becomes dangerous.
And its not only the water supply which becomes dangerous.
I understand why the government want it - and easy, quick financial economic hit which will create jobs.
But I doubt any of the political parties in Westminster will build regulation in the interest of the general public.
For a start, they will so what they did with the tv license, tax evasions laws, utilities, railways, etc - and use the industry's own advisors funded by the interest groups to advise on the regulation.
i have never seen turkeys voting for Christmas.
