Judging from the pic I put ( from google maps 2009 ), i would guess it`s a long time since the yellow lines were enforceable.

And so is the "Ahead Only" sign near McDonalds, but still people stop in the middle of the road waiting to turn right.

Yesterday I got the death glare from someone who nearly hit my car at the mini roundabout next to my house. He was approaching from my left.

Some people just can`t get the hang of roundabouts, especially mini roundabouts, just sit there waiting, don`t know whether they can go or not.

I realise that it was more the irony that the signs are outside the kids houses but not outside my parents. The law does however prohibit ball games on a public road if it causes an interferes with traffic flow but hey-ho best not go there.

I can cope (almost) with that. It's the ones to your right who seem to think they are doing you a favour by letting you go first... I just sit there staring at them.

I've been tempted to throw together a LED matrix sign in the back window with an arduino controller sending it messages to display like "Learn how roundabouts work" or "I bet my tow bar is stronger than your crumple zone"

my pal used to have "your skid stops here " painted above his army issue tow hitch setup on his series 2a ligtweight land rover

a mark 2 escort found out that the wording was indeed accurate after trying to imtimidate my pal by driving close behind

I`ve seen that message on the back of a HGV trailer.

I've just had something similar - a kid who wasn't paying attention mangled the front of his car on the back of mine, after I slowed because the car ahead was turning right. No damage at all to mine.

Another sign I was thinking of was "Baby on board - but don't slow down. If we crash, my money's on the baby."

Re: Armed police in Accy

just a heads up there may not be visable dammage but when my car was rear ended it looked fine until they found £800 worth of dammage behind the bumper

forget whatteh part is called now but unlike the bumper it dosnt spring back and shoudl be replaced if dammaged

I was once 'rear ended' when stationary at a road junction with the handbrake on. I had an old VW beetle at the time - built like a tank - no visible damage so I didn't exchange details with the driver who bumped me. I regretted it soon after because the strain of the 'nudge' caused my handbrake cable to snap later that day.

Same thing happened to paris at traffic lights at the Old Toll Bar going towards Blackburn centre, though it hit a van parked directly behind her ( van no handbrake on) the guy who caused it was on his mobile. She had physio n stuff n still aint right 3 yrs on.

Re: Armed police in Accy

problem these days is even if your not at fault it goes against you on your next insurance premium so it may not be worth claiming for dammage caused by someone else

insurance companies had us by teh balls already this new trick simply squeezes them a little tighter

Re: Armed police in Accy

5 years ago my pal rang up to see how much it would effect his insurance premium teh following year if he claimed for his car stereo that was stolen. The increase in price wa smore than teh stereo was worth

can you guess what happened

yep they increased his next years premium to the same as if he had claimed on the basis that he had been a victim of crime and therefore a greater risk

insurance companies have way too much freedom.People argue that its people claiming for whiplash that increases premiums but to be blunt about it you have to claim for something so you have the money to pay your next premium because you get hit hard even when a victim

i wa sinvolved in a hit and run and when i asked about how it woudl effect my insurance i was told that i was at fault because there was no way the insurance company would accept liability for a driver almost killing me and my kids and driving off so thanks o a set of scumbags i have a pretty expensive claim on my record classed as my fault.

if the police hadnt lost the video of the driver making his escape that PB so kindly found for me teh culprits may have been caught
