Re: Arndale another one bites the dust.
Accy is dying in terms of shopping, parking is almost impossible with all the spaces on double yellows being taken up by pimped up bmw's. I for one shop at Morrisons in Great Harwood or Aldi in Accy, that's as close as I get

You could try the car parks instead of waiting to find a space on a double yellow

I live at the other end of Rishton the train station is a good 20 mins walk, and for me the train is not cheaper because I have a disabled bus pass and can travel on the bus for free.

Always plenty of free FREE parking spaces when I make the twice weekly shopping trip, Tuesdays and Saturdays..

Re: Arndale another one bites the dust.
I think the main problem with Accrington, as a shopping destination, comes down to poor policy decisions, and bad planning.
Arsing about with what was a very successful market, has had a bad knock-on effect for other town centre shops, now the market is a pityful shadow of what it once was.
That, plus the decision to allow the building of more retail spaces than a town our size can support, and which has resulted in umpteen former retail business properties left as empty shells.

Been down a couple of time lately and we've always found a parking spot quite easily, without using the Arndale car park

Re: Arndale another one bites the dust.
Very sad,
We usually use Blackburn Farmfoods, but sometimes Accrington Farmfoods,
Still, there's space for another phone shop/pound shop.
