I'm in England come October for a week but I don't suppose it will be in force by then. Freezing cold door holes, I can't wait!

Half-term flights are a little cheaper Cashy but I'm not going to Lancashire this time. Cornwall to see my daughter and my brother will drive down with his family. Looking forward to it but I'd love a ciggie in the warm!

I've not heard anything about it but seems like a sensible idea.. I doubt any Government will back track.. quite the opposite.

I never liked open plan pubs.
Bring back the snug and I might even start drinking milk stout (as we oldies do)

Could be a return for Ena, Martha and Miny, but you'd have to get a hairnet Margaret

Whatever happens, even if by some Miracle our M.P.'s do realise this was one heck of a big mistake, there are Honest, decent, ex-Landlord's, (Ladies), that worked all the hours under the sun & moon that have struggled and failed during the last couple of years & won't be compensated even though they have wasted their future trying to keep places open, what a shame they didn't invest their time in the banking community, the golden parachute would have left them with a fortune.

Re: at last. re.smoking..

From BBC news

Earlier this month it was announced that heart attack rates fell by about 10% in England in the year after the ban on smoking in public places was introduced in July 2007 - which is more than originally anticipated.
But the latest work, based on the results of numerous different studies collectively involving millions of people, indicated that smoking bans have reduced heart attack rates by as much as 26% per year.

Therefore, no mistake for bringing in the smoking ban

Re: at last. re.smoking..

......and you believe everything that is said on the BBC don't you.

The latest announcement is that the flu vaccine reduces heart attack risk.
They are now getting desperate to convince you to get vaccinated.
Baxters have hell of a stockpile of vaccine and Tamiflu - profits are under threat
