Couldn't diet even if I wanted to as I enjoy my food and cider/wine too much. Really admire these people who manage to change their diets to sensible ones and lose loads of weight.  Luckily my diet is not too bad and I have a dog who needs loads of exercise come rain or shine, so I have been the same weight for years. Off to get my tea now, might have a jam butty for my pudding! ;D

Post Re: Atkins Diet

I think you will find that Dr Aitkens actually died from a head injury when he fell...not renal failure or heart disease......my Nutrition friend does not recommend the diet but suggests if anyone wants to try this form then have a go at the Fat Flush diet...much healthier, however, there is no substitute for healthy eating for life!

Post Re: Atkins Diet

;D  May have been misinformed about the renal failure, one of our doctors told me a few weeks ago. Dr Atkins did suffer from Cardiomyopathy though, although he always claimed it had nothing to do with the diet, although it did once cause him to have a cardiac arrest which he survived. I wouldn't really advise anyone to do this diet, but each to their own. Personally I'd rather do healthy eating and exercise. :-*

Can't possibly see how all that fat can possibly be good for anyone.
No need for faddy diets. Just a change of eating habits and excercise.
makes me laugh when these young girls, thin as anythin complain about their fat tums. No ammount of dieting will shift it only exercise.
Modderation in all things is the key. No food is a bad food.
I shoud know i have slimmed down from a 22-24 to a size 16.

Post Re: Atkins Diet

[smiley=jump3.gif]    Well done Anne, you'll have to advise Ruud on his diet. As said before, I admire people with the willpower to lose a lot of weight, my mum lost 4 stones when I was a kid and it's not easy. Big pat on the back for that one. ;D

Thanks Lettie nothing to do with willpower. Partly Mick's heart attack and partly shock at seeing myself on the Daughters cam corder.
Not a pretty sight. :

How's the detox going Harry? Often thought about doing one myself. Not to lose weight but to try and improve my skin, which goes manky from time to time :-/

Post Re: Atkins Diet

I'll agree with the detoxing.

I did it about two months ago - its surprising how good you feel afterwards. You'll notice the difference in about a week.

Especially on the football field Ruud - so if you start now you might be able to keep up with me when we play you!!

;D
