Funny thing about todays new rules about passports. Because of the confusion and the novelty of this, border crossing guards are ignoring the new rules, letting people cross without passports, and issuing information pamphlets on the new rules And something truly Canadian: the border crossing at Cornwall is closed because the Akwesasne Mohawks, on whose land it is built, are protesting the arming of Canadian border guards. They claim that according to their treaty rights there can be no armed agents of the Federal Govt. on their land. Canada is a quirky place
