Maybe it's just because there are too many of you guys crammed into that tiny little island (sorry about the syntactical redundance); and you are for ever standing on someone else's toes ... or just generally getting on one another's nerves It's like that in Toronto and Vancouver; everyone pushing and shoving to get ... well, nowhere fast. But that respect for others still seems to be alive and well in small town and rural Canada, esp. in Newfoundland, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia ... oh, and Manisnowba too. But with a population density of only 3.2 per sq. km., we got lots of places where bumping into a fellow human is a pleasure. Bumping into bear, moose, and skunk is a little more challenging .

Re: Bad Manners
Last night coming back from accy after meeting up with the researchers -1 and doing my shopping .. got on the bus .. and it there was a big queue .. all the seats were taken again .. and an old lady got on the bus .. and someone sat in front of me got up and gave her seat to the old lady .. there were younger people sat in front of her .. and they totally ignored her. Another lady got on with all her bags of shopping .. and the bus driver shouted round to the young girl who was sat behind him get up and give your seat up ... and the young girl did ...
Its not all bad manners ...

Re: Bad Manners
You are right Jen.....but....the young girl had to be asked.....and she should have done it without prompting really.

Re: Bad Manners
I know she should have .. but the bus driver told her .. so it shows some bus drivers have the guts to tell someone to get up to let an older person sit down ...
