Question Re: Bashing boozy Birds

It never ceased to amaze me that men would judge another man’s manliness by how much he could drink and now women seem to be going down that silly road. Being able to drink umpteen pints per evening doesn’t maketh the MAN.

“Drink that lad. It will make a man of you” is a phrase that rang in my very young ears. Or “don’t be so soft, get it down.”

I’ve had my moments on the alcohol trail – well serving in the Royal Navy I would have - but more than 20 years ago I wised up and saw what a stupid waste of time and money it was.

I would just ask the question, was that super night out all that good or was it the alcohol that made it SEEM good when in fact it was nothing of the sort.

I used to work with someone who reckoned he'd only had a good night out if he couldn't remember a think about it. He died before he reached the age of 50.

I agree with you Mel, the ladettes are not a pretty sight.

Re: Bashing boozy Birds

I am proud of the fact I know my limit and can refuse to drink anymore after that reguardless of any amount of arm twisting and berating over it. I have seen what damage it does and the results of it amongst people I know. People who drink heavy in their youth suffer earlier to the extent that in their early 30's they are showing blood in the urine because of the pasteing their kidneys have taken. It isnt worth it especially amongst women.

I'm sorry but I have to say yes alcohol does make the night. I'm not an aggressive boozy bird and would be disgusted with myself if I hurt another person just because I'd had a skin full. When I go out I enjoy a beer, a cigarette and a giggle and alcohol helps me relax and enjoy the night. I'd hate nothing more than to be the only person out socialising and have to be the only one sober.

I've done that many a time - been the only one sober and standing at the end of the night. Next day is when it comes into its own - you are the one who hasnt got a hangover, not meeting huey and when you ring them up and say hey what about ***** and they cant remember a thing! I will be alcohol free over xmas again but ive been alcohol free for since end of august but it doesnt bother me. I will say this though alcohol does relax people and they do stuff they wouldnt normally do when they have to much.

Re: Bashing boozy Birds

I blame Alcho Pops.

Most women probably couldnt manage more than 3-4 pints until they start to slow down due to the bloatedness (SP)

But when you just drinking 5-6% Vimtos, that goes down like water the enevatable will happen.

Plus most women are Psyco's anyway.

Re: Bashing boozy Birds

But most decent ale is 5-6% anyway its just that we drink it in pints rather than girlie halves
