Be Nice to Murderers
I now try to steer clear of all things “PC”! but reading a report in one of the Sunday rags raised my blood pressure almost to bursting point.
We are forever hearing that the government are putting pressure on the courts to find ways of punishing (better read that as ”treating”) convicted criminals without committing them to jail but this takes the biscuit!
Take the case of Selami Cokaj, He is an Albanian, aged 34 and on Interpols “most wanted” list. His last known address was Mansfield in Notts. He went to trial in his home country and was found guilty of a murder that took place in 1994 and jailed for 20 years. He broke out of jail and came to utopia otherwise known as the UK. Albania asked for him back and to give our police their due, he was tracked down and brought back to court only this time an English one. “You WILL be extradited” says the judge – but until then, you are freed on bail................
Naturally, he disappeared but our bobbies done it again! They tracked him down and put him in front of the judge for a second time................and he was bailed again. He could be your neighbour!
Frrok Koceku, aged 34, also from Albania lives in Milton Keynes and came to the UK in August 1998 claiming asylum in this country. In the same year, he was convicted in his absence by an Albanian court of blasting Besim Buki to death with a machine gun in 1996 but a UK judge refused to extradite him because of the length of time between conviction and his arrest in this country. He has been released to roam Milton Keynes for the rest of his natural life
Pjeter Lekstakaj, 59 .............and Albanian!! (Do I see a pattern emerging??) He came to the UK in 1999 but was convicted in his absence in Albania of attempted murder, he shot a man during a dispute. The UK judge refused to extradite him and instead allowed him to go free because “he is depressed”
Just for a change....Michael Jervis, aged 46 and born in the UK. He was convicted in France for Rape and sent to a secure mental unit from which he escaped and returned to the UK. (Wales) He was arrested in the UK but was released pending a report on his mental state which was being assessed. He failed to turn up at the full hearing. He was eventually re-arrested and taken back to court for breaching bail. I have been unable to trace his story since then but I wonder if he is still strolling down Welsh streets eying up the girls?
Compare their lifestyles with that of Deborah Phillips. She was born in the USA by an English mother and American father. She moved to the UK in 1963 when she was 3 years old and was educated here. She joined the US Navy at 21 and then spent some time working in the US before returning to Britain.
She presently lives in Cottingham near Hull with her frail 80 year old mother who suffers from Alzheimers, had two minor strokes and is arthritic. Deborah does not claim from the Government and works part-time as a volunteer teaching assistant and is a carer for her mother...........and has been turned down 4 times for residency and is likely to be deported to the U.S. Easy target!!!
