Re: Bedtime Bobby!!!!
It seems a strange one to me, am not sure really lol. Can understand if you see a child / youth out at an unreasonable time then yes they should be escorted home as in the article about the boy who was supossed to be sleeping over at a friends. In general though I think that the parents should be firmer with thier kids when it comes to what time they should be home (and I know that with some kids though they just dont seem to listen) and if they are having problems enforcing it then speak to the "bedtime bobby" and let him help.
Would probably work in a lot of areas really though but I dont think a lot of kids would be happy being frog marched home by the local bobby for being out a bit late, you know how stroppy teens can be (especially if they have been embarassed infront of their friends too lol)

Who cares if the kids are happy with it?
Thats one of the problems in society today parents are far too afraid to upset the 'little dears'

Re: Bedtime Bobby!!!!
well I think its a cracking idea as long as you can get the parents support. too many parents these days dont seem to give a damn where the kids are. quite sad really

Re: Bedtime Bobby!!!!
just another example of bone idle parents abdicating responsibility for thier offspring .........." its ok dear you just have another Stella , the nice policeman will bring our Kevin and Jason home "
In my area we have a curfew for the kids , anyone under 18 picked up after 11pm without adult supervision (older family member , sibling/aunt /uncle/grandparent ok) the kid is taken down to the local sheriffs station and sits there until a sober parent (ID required) collects him/her after two pick-ups the parents start getting bills (think it starts at $50 per hour , but goes up) for childminding

thats a good idea.. not sure how much $50 is in £... does it work? what happens if there isnt a sober parent available?

I never said i cared if they were happy or not, just a comment on how the child /teen would react
If the parent teaches the child discipline and respect then there shouldnt be a need for a "bedtime bobby"

No there should not be a need for this type of policing. I just feel too many parents are frightened to put their foot down nowadays and say 'No'
We certainly did it with our children and it is a mazing now that as adults they advocate the same line! In other words despite all their protesting at the time they now look back and agree that we were right!
