Re: Beer prices...
Opps looks like humor went for a walk in this thread or maybe a pint, I apologize if it was interpreted the wrong way but I did think that Firemans post was a injection of humor and carried on the theme I will be more careful in future, Honest

You make this statement as if you're surprised fireman. When I first started underage drinking back in the seventies a pint of bitter in the AEU club was 10p, a pint in the pubs was 11 or 12p. When I started driving a few years later a gallon of 4star was 37.5-40p. We can't even blame this one on good old grinning Tony Bliar.

Apparently a new bio friendly fuel that burns simiar to petrol but with lower emmisions. Understand Tesco is trialing sales in certain areas of the country so maybe if you try their site there may be other links from there. Some info on Bio diesel if you put that into search engine. Also Saab have a car that runs on bio fuel that is soon to be marketed over here. Hope that helps. PS understand it retails around 36p per litre so on a par with a cheap pint!

If by chance you mean biological diesel that is won as a fuel from a plant known as Raps in germany.I would advise against it.They brought it out over here and it has killed off a serious amount of cars ruining their diesel or petrol pumps.Surprising thing is that there appears to be no European ruling on the contents of this stuff

Are you sure this isn't just standard LPG? I've been running it for years in my cars. I pay 34p/litre. LPG is environmentally friendly on 2 fronts. When burnt it produces massively less pollution than petrol or diesel. Secondly it is reaped during the pumping of oil for refining and currently less than 10% is used for useful purposes, the rest is flashed off at the rig. The more people that use it would mean a more efficent use of each resource released during the retrieval of oil.
Bio-Diesel is effectively any vegetable based oil(Rape, Sunflower etc) with a small amount of spirit to aid initial cold starting. The 'diesel' engine we know today was originally designed to run on peanut oil. It was only when the oil giants realised that there was a use for a product of the refining process that until that point was thrown away did we start to know it as a diesel engine. Any modern diesel will quite happily run on veg oil. The Customs and Excise are the people would would be a bit upset should you decide to do it though!

Re: Beer prices...
Tis is made from Rape, a small yellow flower and is known over here as bio Diesel. Its killing a lot of the older diesel motors off.Know for sure as VW, Mercedes and other leading German Car Manufacturers are advising drivers not to use this fuel.Even to say the guarentee is null and void if you do.Lorry engines appear to be ok though ????ß

Re: Beer prices...
I have Run a pub in the past. To top up my wage I used to get up at 7am on match days to cook free food for when the fans returned. I used an honesty pot for payment. I didn't make very much on the food but I did on the bar. Most nights I didn't get to bed till 230 am but was expected to be bright and cheerful when we opened the next day. It is a very hard life being a LandLord/Lady I'd rather be a barmaid any day
