Best Grub

Just read Oss1's introduction & his rave review about a curry house in Ossy,so i was wondering,if it has'nt already been done,if everytime a member has a takeaway or goes out for something to eat, they could post their review of the meal on here?I'd love to start but it's only 7am'ish & i dont know of anywhere you can phone out for a breakfast

Another very nice venue which is quite reasonably priced is The Game Cock at Great Harwood, good food and a nice play area for the kids, well worth a visit. IMHO.

Has it changed hands or been done up recently?

Not beeing funny mate but every i have been there i have been dissapointed with the service, food and surroundings. I understand it's ideal for the kids but i think the hollywood park in burnley(next to the cinema) is a much better day out, it has a kiddies play area and meals are a buy1 get the next one free.

One suggestion, dont go on a sunday between 4-5pm you will be waiting an hour, although they do tell you when ordering.

I think it has changed hands or something because the menus are different and although you have to order food at the bar the service is excellent, I do agree the surroundings may not be to everyones taste but we usually find a quiet corner to enjoy our meal.

I like the Gamecock and have never had any trouble with service the quality of food or the surroundings. Mind you I also like the carvery at the Whittikers Arms on Burnley Road as well especially on an early Sunday afternoon.

the game cock in arrod hasn't changed hands yet to my knowledge but in december it will shut down ( for a month i think) and undergo a major refurbishment... also the childrens area is being "got rid of" and its going to be more oldy worldy ...or so i read in the rag the other week....
