Re: Big protest in accy centre?
Who is Holly Steel? And what is HBC doing organising mass truancy? These kids should be in school doing their SATs, GCSEs or whatever mickey mouse tests pass for exams these days. I'd ASBO the lot of 'em, starting with Britcliffe who no doubt is behind this nonsense.

Re: Big protest in accy centre?
A people rally of any sort usually results in an increase in street litter.
It will be interesting to see whether these little darlings have really abandoned the throw away culture.

Re: Big protest in accy centre?
Oh lovely glad im not that desperate to be out yet i'll stick with the fun & games of UU's water off water on game - so much more fun & quieter. The recycling is crap in this town anyway.....u get nagged at by bin men who are so picky as to which thing goes where, but quite happy to litter the town anyway with blown litter/recycled stuff dropped.
Love double standards!

Re: Big protest in accy centre?
Well I tried to get with it, recycling, Hmmmm, no propaganda from teachers etc. I'll try for the kid's, their passion deserves at least one result.
So, when I went for my daily, instead of wiping once I turned the paper over and used it again,
It doesn't work for me, spending five minutes trying to remove paper from my hand without adding to my carbon footprint by using hot water took ages!
The after smell isn't one of an expensive deoderant either!

Thank you. You have just confirmed what I said about these so-called exams. In my day we had real exams, 3 hours a time, twice a day, right up to the last few days of term. We went into the exam room with a pen, pencil, ruler, maybe a set of log tables and whatever was in your head. However hard you tried, the absolute maximum mark was 75%
Unlike the little brats of today, who will go into an exam room with laptop and mobile phone, and then having phoned a friend will proceed to put their name on the top of the paper in order to obtain 95% marks. They will then spend the rest of the exam session listening to whatever junk is on their i-pods. But even then, the nonsense does not finish there because the exam itself will count for only 10% of their overall mark because the rest is made up of 'continuous assessment'. The only continuous assessment in my day was a leather strap, applied liberally on failure to do your homework. This lot today do not know the meaning of that word. No wonder we have produced a generation of dumbed-down idle layabouts.

There's nowt wrong with field trips...to museums, galleries, geographic features. The object there is to learn.Everything is wrong though with throwing open the school gates in order to let the little buggars run rampant through the town centre with the excuse that it is a recycling exercise. The teachers must be either lazy, bonkers - or more likely - both.
