Bill Gates on life..

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things
they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good,
politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept
of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will
expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school.
You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity.
Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so
don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now.
They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were.

So before you
save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT.
In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and
they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This
doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off
and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do
that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually
have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for
one.

who would have thought that he speaks sense...

With the power and money he has he dosnt need to think for himself. If he did he wouldnt need all the software engineers he has to be successful.

Re: Bill Gates on life..

I have often wondered why common sense is so called, because it seems very far indeed from being in any way common. I have no particular liking for Bill Gates and his methods of business, but I cannot deny that he is successful at what he does and money in the bank always counts for more than failed good intentions or thwarted aspirations. It is not unusual for men in his position to persuade themselves that having reached the giddy heights of super wealth they have some responsibility to lecture the rest of us. Wealth insulates us from the often harsh realities of everyday life, and this truth applies not only to the idle and feckless young Mr Gates preaches to, but also to Mr Gates himself.

Re: Bill Gates on life..

Wonder if he follows these in business?

Lesson One:
*************

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.
A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also
sit like you and do nothing?" The eagle answered: "Sure,
why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle
and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the
rabbit and ate it.

Management Lesson: To be sitting and doing nothing, you
must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson Two:
*************
A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to
get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't
got the energy." "Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?"
replied the bull, they're packed with nutrients."
The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually
gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the
tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached
the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly
perched at the top of the tree. He was promptly spotted by a farmer,
who
shot him out of the tree.

Management Lesson: Bull **** might get you to the top, but it won't
keep
you there.

Lesson Three:
*************
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold,
the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While
he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung
on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung,
he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him
out! He laid there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy A
passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following
the sound, the cat discovered
the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate
him.

Management Lesson: (1.) Not everyone who poo's on you is
your enemy. (2.) Not everyone who gets you out of poo is your friend.
(3.) And when you're in deep poo, it's best to keep your mouth shut!
