bin day?

We normally get our bins collected on Fridays & the blue box was due to be collected this friday too. But I figured with it being Good Friday no collections would be made - which is fine. But no one informed me that the refuse & blue box would be collected today which I was a bit annoyed at - cos if I'd have known I would have sorted everything out. Once upon a time didn't we get told about changes of collections i.e. at easter & xmas?

Re: bin day?

Don't worry about bin collections any more - it's just been announced that there is to be a new communal rubbish tip for Hyndburn & Blackburn where anyone can take their old garbage - tyres, fridges, PC's, dead cats & dogs, other organic waste, etc....its just off the M65...it's called Ewood Park.

Re: bin day?

Seeing as the the Observer is delivered on Friday morning and I put my rubbish out on Thursday night ( So I could have a lie-in ) I`ll probably get a stiff letter off the council!!

Thanks Janet - now spotted it (at least I won't make the same mistake this week). But not everyone gets the Observer - you shouldn't have to pay to find this information out, a small note through the door the week before shouldn't be too much to ask (not a full page of A4 thugh - I know the council can't afford that).
