Blackburn Road Clayton speed limit?

I wanted to see if anyone else has concerns over the speed of traffic along this road, I turn in to park and people nearly crash into the back of me and look at me like I am stupid for doing so.

People race past during the night at stupid speeds.

Should it be clearer that it is a 30 mph road.

I also have problems with light bulbs going all the time and recently my mirror fell off the wall.

The lorrys don't help.

It used to be a favourite place for police to catch speeding vehicles. How far down are you? They tend to pck up speed after the junction.

Firstly, are you talking about the stretch of road from Clayton lights to Dunkenhalgh Hotel? If so, traffic has been slowed considerably by roadworks and temp lights over the past couple of days.

Have you checked your lights recently? Not being sarcastic, it's surprising how many people can be unaware for months at a time that their brake or indicator lights are not working

It should not be a priority that the 30mph limit is "advertised" on this road. It is a built up area with houses on either side of the road and so automatically becomes a 30 mph limit by law. Drivers should know this (I think that it also has to do with the space between street lamps?)

Regarding your light bulbs that are going some place? and your 7 year bad-luck broken mirror, If I were you, I would harrass your M.P. to INCREASE the speed limit as there would be less vibration from H.G.V's doing 50 mph than 30 m.p.h.

I go down that road on a regular basis and consider the speed of the traffic to be fairly sensible. I may be slightly biased though as I am normally driving a 40 ft coach that kicks up a little vibration at 30 mph but please don't sue me for the cost of your mirror

Yes, Willow this road is well targeted by police for speed, a few people I know have been caught, not once, but twice as they descend down the road and gather up speed 'cause of the downhill.

It can be difficult to negotiate at times, but think wing mirrors, etc., get an early scrap yard, not because of speed, but due to the fact that many motorists cannot judge the width of their car and two pass each other simultaneously... the road is made narrow by residents parking opposite to each othe; a rule which seems to have got lost somewhere.

You want to come and live where i live. Either people just carry on the speed that they were doing on the bypass or building up their speed on their way to the roundabout! Best is when its after midnight. Its mainly taxi's on the road then bringing people home. Hate to think what an accident would be like then.
