Re: Blue bins and blue bags

They have just been round to empty our Blue sack, Blue Box and white sack.
But just noticed they have changed the wagons they used to be green and silver with 3 side loading compartments for the 3 separate items now they are all red with rear loading 2 compartments so whats the point in separating things out

Because someone else will have to sort your rubbish, there'll be greater costs involved.

Having to sort our own recycling in Hyndburn saves money.

I'll get a statement from the Waste Management department then we can sort out how recycling collection is separated. However it is organised it will be the most efficient system available as the officers who run the department are continually looking at ways of improving things.

I find it highly unlikely that they will be using a system which is more costly than it needs to be.

Why not submit a paper on it, detailing full costings and comparing the current system with the overall advantageous benefits of spending thousands on a new system which we cannot currently afford? It isn't quite a simple as reusing the same trucks as the household waste, there are many other cost implications but no doubt you have already anticipated this and have financial offset variances in order to compensate without massively increasing the waste budget and still meeting government targets.

Please feel free to let us know how you get on.

yes i was taking the mick i tend to when somone thumps on my front door enquiring about my waste habbits in the morining but the gestapo been the gestapo didnt have a sense of humour and left in a huff and as of yet my offer has not been responded to

Mine goes back a few years and is to do with fly tipping.
I lived in a gable end house, back alley ran along the side and behind the house.
Forever getting letters from them threatening, me.
But the worse one was when someone dumped a full set of wrought iron gates complete with the stand posts by the side of the house, they called at the door threatening retribution, I asked, where on this property would I be able to remove such items from just to dump them 2 yards away.
I think the case is still pending, I'll be lucky just to get a caution!
Job'sworths!
