Re: Blue bins and blue bags

This week the recycling men left me an additional recycling receptacle - a blue bag with solid handles. (it's like an over large shopping bag)

I have a blue sack, which was emptied and returned.
So what is this blue bag for?

Not entirely positive, Margaret, but think the handles have some sort of reflective yarn in them, so they can be seen when you place them outside. Dark mornings.

There again, makes it easier to carry and if it is squarer with a flatter base, doesn't blow away as easily.

Probably talking more rubbish than what's up the tip.

Re: Blue bins and blue bags

I once took bottles and newspapers up to the Whinney Hill recycling centre with my partner, the bottle banks were full to overflowing and we were told to "just chuck them in there and shove your papers in as well" - there being a big skip full of hardcore and other assorted rubbish! I've been sceptical about recycling ever since!

Just me in this block as far as I know.
I never half fill a blue sack so it can't be for 'overflow'.

Re: Blue bins and blue bags

My good neighbour who manages my refuse for me, has told me that the large blue bag was full of empty Lucozade bottles and was placed next to our recycling boxes by persons unknown.

So it was not supplied by the recycling men and no near neighbours are known to drink Lucozade in such vast quantities.

The only local possible source is the workmen on the nearby building site, and the quantity could be a 6 months supply for a thirsty builder.
