Blue Monday
My son's partner is at the hospital today having the after effects of a miscarriage sorted out, but I knew about that on saturday, this morning I went to work, 1 man short obviously, (my son works with me) and got a phone call to say the other van wouldn't start, the boss went to help out and I manned the office for 20 mins before I had to be on the road to preston, took an hour to get there because of the floods which put me behind time, on the way back a vauxhaull astra van ran into the back of me, no damage to my van (which was being part exed on friday next) because I have a tow ball and bar on the back, got stuck in traffic due to the floods on the way back and was just going to my 10.30 appointment (at 11.50) waiting on the Dunkenhalgh way for the lights to change, when a Vauxhall astra car ploughed into the back of us, the astra is a right off no question, the van is being assessed tomorrow, my passenger went to hospital for shock and a check up, the driver was ok, and I missed the rest of my days work, just after the accident, whilst waiting for the police, the radio presenter said, today is officially the most depressing day of the year, and is known as BLUE MONDAY... No s**t sherlock! Anybody have a better day?

Re: Blue Monday
I was told today that my van is a write off, the car that hit us has bent the chassis. arching the floor in the back and creasing the side panels, to give an idea how hard he hit, the plylining behind my seat was ripped of, he bent the tow ball support bracket (2" steel), broke the suspension, shifted 1 ton of stock from the front of the van behind my seat the full length of the van to the back doors, bent the doors over the top of the 8" towing bracket, and actually dislocated the wiper blade on the front windscreen, I am very glad it wasn't a wagon!!

Just a tad, can't believe a car has done all that damage to a van weighin probably 1 1/2 tonnes. ( No reference to my weight I hasten to add).
