Re: boose buster

At what point will the management in there realise that running a shop stocking booze with only one member of staff is not a great idea? Or do we have to wait until someone gets hurt or worse?

Can't actually think it would make any difference how many staff work in these shops lindsay, these people don't give two figs for anybody except their own selfish selves, or who gets hurt if they get in the way

Yet another one!!

The poor lady was threatened with a hammer this time
They got money, fags and spirits... tried to make her open the safe

The management will never realise enough is enough cos it aint their wife/children/family that do the job

Re: boose buster

The lady in question is fine, thanks for all your concern. I'm sure you will all join me in sending her our best regards.

The guy came in wearing a mask and hoody, and came behind the counter with a hammer. He demanded she open the till where he took money and also cigarettes and money.

He then forced her into the back where he ordered she open the safe, but we don't hold the key for the safe.

He then rifled through her handbag and took her mobile phone. He tried to take her purse but relented and gave it her back.

The police have been around of course, he is on CCTV and forensics have been taken so there is every chance he will be caught.

Booze Busters will not normally put two members of staff on mainly due to the budget, but maybe this will make them sit up and take notice. A couple of us will now not work on our own, but again will this make much difference when all said and done? If the shop is going to get robbed, it will do no matter how many staff are on.

Many will say why work on your own - the simple fact is the majority of us have families and the hours make it easier to work around, and after all we all go to work for money no other reason.

Anyway I shall post an update as and when I know anything. I just wanted you all to hear it from the horses mouth as it were.

Re: boose buster

Is cheap booze really worth putting someones life at risk for? A question for the management and for the customers I think

Here here .... I don't walk about anymore in the dark and in some areas I would not in the daytime either....

In fact if I am honest, I don't even feel safe in my own home: all these incidents get you feeling like this:

Re: boose buster

I am appalled that a company the size of Boozebuster thinks so little of it's employees safety, I have been in a situation at a workplace before where I was expected to lock up on my own, the company ruling on it soon changed when I stood my ground and refused to do it because it was unsafe, I would suggest the folk at Boozebuster do the same, the scum will think twice if they see extra bodies in there.

Spoken like a true mountie

It's the same all over. In the US, the job at which you are most likely to be murdered is convenience store clerk; and the second is taxi driver ... the police don't even make it into the top ten, and those suckers are armed to the teeth. In Kingston, the clerks at the convenice stores give free coffe and snacks to cabbies who park in their lot between calls .... the mere presence of a car with a two way radio in it is a big detterent.
