My, how time flys.
It doesn't seem two minutes ago that you were writing to the local press, lambasting this forum as being a place of 'vile and vicious attacks' against your little chum.
Now you are one of us, and realise it's done with deference, and the utmost respect.

They were the glory days of the Observer.
You got a better class of obsessive nutter back then.

That was many moons ago, when I was unable to gain access to the site, but I think you used the wrong smiley at the end of your post

Nothing odd about my one letter.
Though it was glorious.

Glorious in the fact that it proved a point.
That your little chum, Peter Britcliffe, could eat well in London for a tenner. When he asked if anyone could, and if so they should write a guide book. When justifying why he'd ignored the recommendations of an independent panel, and increased councillor's food expenses by 100%.
Council makes a meal of rises - Accrington Observer
I kindly offered details to a lovely restaurant, only minutes walk from where he was. Two course, half bottle of wine, all for less than £10.
Gloriously detailed, and helpful advice.
It inspired me to start my now popular travel guides, Live Like a King, on a Pauper's Pittance.

Whilst not being anything to be proud of John, you must have been one hell of a teacher.
However, you really need to advise Peter that he's going to have to move the events of the Royal wedding forward in order to get the photos in the paper in time for the local elections. Freemen of the Borough, photos with the lucky people getting married, street parties....no votes to be won by appearing in a paper that actually comes out on election day! I'm sure Mr Cameron can wangle a picture of the Leader with Prince William and Kate in advance.
Having watched the Leader of the Council blaze out of the car park like the DeLorean from Back to the Future on hearing of Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen's visit to the Haworth Art Gallery, I fear there is nothing that would prevent him from courting the media if there was the vaguest hint of a few votes.
