I don't think Greg has ever been a Blackburn Councilllor. He was an Hyndburn Councillor for a few years in Gt Harwood. Also he wasn't a Councillor in 1992 when he first became an M.P.

He stood for Council in the Ribble Valley not Blackburn, not sure whether he got in or not though.

Re: Britcliffe wants to stand as our M.P.
It was the Parliamentary seat that Greg stood for in the Ribble Valley Gayle. He was flying the flag for Socialism in Clitheroe.

No exemptions Less (except civil servants and M.P.'s)...statutory retirement age is 65 years for most companies... if you wish to work on any longer than this, you have to apply to your employers to do so. They are within their rights to say 'no .... sod off' without redundancy ...

No offence, but thought he was much older than this. Still, how many employers would take someone on in an influential position at the age of, what he will be next year, 60 ? Not many.

I wonder if H.B.C. will be introducing a free coach to London, for the over sixties, starting next year?
