broadway

eny one know whats going on at the broadway pub last week it was boarded up, this week every trade going chipys, painters, sparks, all in there.

Was closed down by the brewery tosh. Nearly had the Hope & Anchor closing too but they got a reprieve. Was in the Observer at the time.

Maybe just doing a refurbishment.

Have I dreamt that some pub was shutting and being turned into flats or have I heard it…is it the Broadway or I’m I just talking nonsense

shame if thats the case, the Broadway was a great boozer way back, all the bikers used to gather there late 60s n 70s, great jukebox, great landlord "Bob" who sadly passed away a few years back, his missus n daughter popped in me disco a few weeks back with some visitors from down south, we had a real good night reminising.

I thought the bikers used the Hope and Anchor ? I presume you mean Bob who had it round about the late 70's early 80's ?

Had some good nights in there in the early 70s.

I'm led to believe it has been bought by the Last Orders group and is being re-furbished even as we speak.
Should be open in about 6weeks.

Bikers used to use the broadway till they refurbed it. Then they moved to the dope.

was always the "Broadway" fer the bikers dave, before your time,they moved across to the "Hope" much later.
