The journeys would take three times as long as usual - but hey, so what! These characters have no need to get anywhere on time. That would leave the rest of us - who pay for public transport - a faster and more efficient service, which would in turn attract more people from their cars.

Doesnt that cover ALL the bus users? And who's to say they dont need to get anywhere on time! They could have appointments to attend to or trains to catch and stuff.

brother was 2 and sister was 8. Fairplay to her not needing her hand held but still had to carry all our day out things and all the crap you usually collect from blackpool and keep them close to me and carry a pram. It was a buggy, still needed folding up and down, carrying, and if you have attempted this on a train to blackpool you will know that it makes travelling on the bus in such way (which we had to take 2 of either way) a doddle.

Re: Buses do a U-turn?
Got to say aswell that there is a sign on the buses here saying that the space is specifically for wheel chair users, doesn't say anything about it being a space for prams. In fact there isnt anything at all on the bus about prams, not even about the luggage tray or anything.
I like that method of keeping the baby in a sling at all times, those women must find it oh so easy to use public transport with their new borns, and its certainly a method I'd look into when having a baby.
Did anyone watch the programme about bringing up babies in different generations? I liked the 50's method of putting the baby outside in its pram for fresh air aswell regardless of the season. Seemed a bit weird not being able to cuddle the baby though or play with it.

Re: Buses do a U-turn?
One thing that worries me about a sling is that the baby is in front of you and could so easily be injured if you walk onto a bus and it sets off and you lurch forward.

what i thought was worse was that they thought it best to be in contact with the baby at all times, so they sleep with the baby in the sling aswell. I always though you where advised never to put a baby in bed with you.
I fell over holding my sister once because the taxi driver didnt pull right up to the kerb. I was only about 10/11. I just got shouted at off her dad though when looking back, it was more the drivers fault than mine.

Re: Buses do a U-turn?
Oh gosh yes I agree, I wouldn't have thought sleeping with the baby in a sling was a good idea at all, you could roll over and suffocate the poor little thing.
