But the police gather the evidence and they did not provide that for the court.

One sensible policeman decided that our money should not be used to investigate the death of some goldfish.

That sounds very rational to me.

The ones who wasted the police time and our money are the Crown Prosecution Service

Agree with that margaret but finger prints where taken so a degree of valuable police time was wasted, it cannot all be laid upon the C P P.

How many break ins do not have finger prints taken?

Anyone arrested gets their fingerprints (and DNA) taken as a matter of procedure.

Someone should have looked at this & said "WHOA!, stop whats happening & consider a warning etc".

Just preparing a case for this will have cost loads more than the fish were worth.
There has to be some common sense used when prosecuting someone & there are other ways of dealing with such petty crimes.

This woman (although .. ok, not proved guilty or anything) does sound a bit scary ... wouldn't like her to make me a cocktail if I had crossed her...

A word from a police officer could have done in this case. Anyone know who the fish belonged to or why she had access? More to this than meets the eye?

Edit! I wrote meats.

Do you know, if you'd searched for them, you would have found many trivial threads of this ilk on accyweb.

The police basically do as they please and no-one can challenge them lol,... or so they think.

Was out tonyt and got stopped and searched SEVEN times whilst walking less than half a mile from the kings arms to the spread eagle.

Eventually got fed up and kicked up a fuss which ended up with my dad turning up lol. Harrassment is what it is, because they had no right to stop me so many times.
