Re: Car Insurance

not quite sure what you said there mr d lol but when i was looking at buying a car i rang my insurers to ask if i would be covered to drive it home and they said only if the car was still insured by the guy i was buying it off , i could have transfered my insurance but it would then have left me uninsured on my current car

mind you different insurers have different ways , ime with tesco

It is a very grey area, although in a policy booklet there is no rule that the other car must be insured.

In your case its a very tricky one as you bought the car techinacally you own it. so D.O.C would'nt apply.

Each insurer is different. some would give you free insurance for 7 days whilst you got rid of your current vehicle. other would charge you around £15.00 for this privalage.

Insurers are looking at loosing the D.O.C extention (and some already have) due to the way it is being abused.
