How else are they going to afford the wage bill. Besides a few of the players might become members.

Re: Casino Hell ?
In ten years time Blackpool willl be full of casinos. They arte already turning planning applications down incase they ruin their chances of this super casino. BUT whether they get it or not, as soon as its done and dusted, the applications will be passed. Blackpool will be gambling capital of britain whether they get this super casino or not.

Re: Casino Hell ?
Chris and I go to a casino once every now and then - think the last time we went was about 18 months ago. The trick is to go in with just enough cash in your pocket that you are prepared to lose and leave your credit card at home. Play nice and slowly and don't go mad and it will last all night. You get served drinks whilst you're at the tables and you can have a great time people watching and if you do like I said and be sensible you can have a good night out for around £20.
But I can understand how easy it is to get totally addicted. You see people who aren't even watching properly but are literally throwing money on the tables. They have an almost manic look in their eye and they rarely win.
I really think Blackpool should get the super casino but I know it will go to the Dome - it has to!

Re: Casino Hell ?
How long has the dome got left. The tent only has a limited life span and then it's gone forever, there's no way they could afford to re do that, it's enormous.
Did any of you actually go?

Re: Casino Hell ?
Agree with Gayle, has to be London .. (sorry Blackpool) ... only there would they be able to keep the security, etc tight as would be a huge attraction to visitors to the U.K., and can't see them putting a trip to Blackpool on their itinerary. It would stay more sophisticated as clientele would be International with more money to spend, not the hen/stag parties that Blackpool is inundated with, and with limited funds.
Would it be ready for the games ? Would indeed do well there and probably put up faster than the Wembley stadium

Re: Casino Hell ?
Being outside of the UK I haven't really been following this story , can somebody bring me up to date and explain the differance between a super casino and a regular style casino ( Las Vegas type) , and also is only one being allowed in the whole country

A regular style casino in UK means a few blackjack tables, a few roulette tables and a couple of slot machines. The super casino would have been what Vegas call a regular one.

Re: Casino Hell ?
If we are going to get one I hope it comes to Blackpool, but like other people have said I bet it goes to that no hope outsider the Millenium Dome.
The comment from the Daily Mail just seems typically anti Labour. If it had been brought in under a Conservative government it would have been given as a shining example of the free market economy, and a great boost for areas needing urban renewal.
To me a more worrying trend is on-line gambling, as can be seen recently by the case of the local boy who ran up debts of thirty thousands pounds gambling on his parent's credit cards while they were away for the WEEKEND!

I've told you before, if you don't let Tinks go on the computer she'll get up to mischief.
