Casino Hell ?
According to the Daily Mail's comments yesterday on this issue, a super casino quote "will encourage more organised crime, drug dealing, loan sharking, prostitution, anti-social behaviour, traffic and noise pollution, and more gambling addicts driven to abject misery and even suicide " Then it goes on to mention that "the Blairite bunch betrays every principle for which the party once stood"
Have no experience of Casino gambling, but, yes, will probably encourage a little more of the above, but I feel a Super Casino will be more of an entertainment venue, than the profound statement above.
Casinos are already around anyway .. and you are this type of gambler or not.
Did watch quite a lot of the Americans on my recent American owned cruise and some of them were quite obsessed, but only appeared to be an extension of the one armed bandit... mainly women, might I add.
Anybody any thoughts on this or personal experiences ?

Re: Casino Hell ?
Forwomen its more exciting than bingo. Orginised crime can only get involved if the laws rules and regulations are slacke rthan pants 4 sizes too big. There is little or no chance of the kind of casinos and gambling clubs the Americans had. As for addicts there will always be some but they are the ones that have the option to be or not to be addicts the same as any other kind.

pesonally have nothing against a super casino, have used casinos on a very small scale i.e. whilst waiting for paris to get ready. whilst they may encourage some of that list above i think the government encourage them more than any casino - no deterrant- no real employment- etc and people being people some will always look for the EASY way out.

Re: Casino Hell ?
You only want loosers then (find them in Accy Town Centre in dodgy clothing) )? Seriously though if they are to be these "dens" then I hope there is some kind of counciling and hard facts available before people get in too deep. I like the odd punt on the footy and horses and even the odd game of poker for small cash amounts and have no problems. These places could increase the amount of debt some have as they try to win themselves out of the pickle they are in.
