Re: Checking deliveries

It amazed me too. I was gobsmacked by his attitude.

Think it is the fact that he was telling you you couldn't use the service again. As if you would want to

Yes I'm not exactly falling over myself to shop at Tesco at the mo.

Re: Checking deliveries

This sounds like surreal revenge on his employer by a driver working out his notice

I suppose that's a possibility.

I was laughing at the stupidity of the driver expecting you to believe that rubbish about not being allowed to order with Tesco online again.

In any case, like Bernadette said, as if you'd want to.

Re: Checking deliveries

Well I didn't know whether to believe him or not. He said he'd been told to tell me that. Apparently there are limits to the amount you can order in one go but if the website let us order it and if someone loaded it into the van then surely it was within the limits? Wouldn't the website have restricted our order if we'd ordered too much?

I think that he was talking out of his backside, Willow.

Re: Checking deliveries

I can understand there needing to be limits on deliveries otherwise you could have the local corner shop buying all the cheapy stuff in bulk for resale however surely the system some stage should alert you that you've exceeeded the limit.

What was the nature of the bulky items?

That's what Entwisi was trying to say Willow .. not enough information at point of order. Love their slogan 'You shop, we drop' Looks like this driver didn't quite agree .. 'You shop, but I 'aint gonna drop in case I drop if it is too heavy !'

Thought your experience was disgusting .. jolly good order for them I would have thought. !

Re: Checking deliveries

The cost of the order was about £120 - hardly enough to stock a shop and most of the items were just odd ones of, like one bottle of vinegar, one drum of salt. The heaviest was probably 10 bottles of water but it's hardly a shop stock is it? We easily go through 10 bottles of fizzy water a week.
