Whoah!!!!! That was heart rending and god how we are so lucky. I hope she moves on and lives a fulfilled and happy life and that by her speaking out if it just stops one other going through what she has, she is amazing!!

The real point, I think, is that she was not just a child, she was female, and in fundamentalist Islamic regimes females don't count. They are treated like animals because that is how they are regarded. And this is the system the fundamentalists want to impose on the rest of the world?

Sadly her story won't be unique.
There are children all over the world who are virtual slaves. What's even more shocking is when it happens in this country. When children slip through the net, and are treated little worse than animals, as has been highlighted by a few cases in the last few years. Childhood should be a time of innocence, and it's heartbreaking when that isn't the case.
