Angry Child Database For The Near Future?

If New Labour has its way this database is on the cards.

The government is proposing to spend over £200m on a database that contains the details of every child in the country. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/12/09/nchild09.xml
and

Now will people believe that slowly but surely the British citizen is being herded into a corner from which there will be no escape except by emigration or death.

Re: Child Database For The Near Future?

Forget the figure of 200m.. every IT project the government has been involved in has run WAY over budget..

We need some liberal thoughts back into our system. Having databases on our kids, databases on our dna, we should fight against having such huge sources of information that can be used to make the government money and things.. we elect them to run the country not our lives.

Cool Re: Child Database For The Near Future?

Can I suggest that you meant to write lateral rather than liberal Cyfr?

Why? He's a Conservative with a small c, with admitted liberal leanings.

He probably did mean to write liberal. He doesn't often write what he doesn't mean.

Re: Child Database For The Near Future?

I ment liberal, but lateral would fit too, at least I think.
