I'll second that...
Back on thread, I had a brilliant time as a kid. Me and my sisters used to visit my Gran and cousins every year in Leicester. Most of our time was spent outside and we were all champion scrumpers.
When at home, we had a den at the bottom of Highams playing field and a den at the bottom of Whinney Hill. Me and my friend Anna also had a rope swing up Ossy in a field behind the Daisy Dairy. The swing was over a particularly foul smelling puddle of mud and oily stuff. This stuff ruined clothes but we managed to fall into it on a regular basis. There were always millions of slugs in the field after the rain. We both hated them and used to have to psyche ourselves up to run through the field and avoid the multitudes of 'killer' slugs which we were convinced were after us.
