Unhappy Chocolate tax

A doctor in Scotland is pushing for there to be more tax put on chocolate to help combat obesity, what a lode of garbage. They always take a sledge hammer to crack a nut, I like a bit of Chocolate now and again, and I'm not exactly fat, so this chap wants to punish me for other peoples lack of self control. Its just like stopping beer deals at supermarkets to curb binge drinking, I don't binge drink either. So I and other people like me, who take things in moderation will have to suffer for those who have no self control, beam me up scotty

Re: Chocolate tax

I thought that the way to combat obesity was diet and exercise ....

Hey, just had an idea: instead of making chocolate more expensive, why not make the healthy alternatives cheaper

Re: Chocolate tax

Why do they always think the answer is to price people out of the market. Guess they also think that all people on low incomes are Stupid and Lazy!

Most Doctors are ignorant about nutrition and are only concerned to treat/mask symptoms with prescription/man-made drugs.

BBC NEWS | Scotland | Glasgow, Lanarkshire and West | GPs vote against 'chocolate tax'

There you go ... at least the rest of the docs voted against it ....

Re: Chocolate tax

If chocolate is so bad why do they issue it in army rations, and recommend it for survival packs.

That quack wants his head examining, preferably with 1/2 a brick.

Spot on Margaret, a dog or cat can't tell the Vet whats wrong, the vet has to diagnose, wheras you tell the doc whats wrong and he guesses at the treatment.
What I'd like to know is, how deaf and dumb people ever get the right treatment.

This is sort of a serious question: why is it usually 1/2 a brick ... I remember it from my childhood back in the horse and buggy days, then it was half a NORI ... why a half brick and not a full one

Staying with the "brick" theme: this Dr. sounds like he is a few bricks short of a full load

Without fried Mars bars many Scots wouldn't get any solid nutrition at all.

Man cannot live by Buckfast Abbey Wine and whisky chasers alone, at least not north of the border.

Because 1/2 a brick is easier to throw than a full one, whether its 1/2 a Nori or any other make.
