Cleanest Streets

Apparently Hyndburn has the cleanest streets in the county

Hyndburn's streets are the tidiest in the county (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Since then the council has made massive strides acting against grafitti, dog fouling and litter dropping.
I rang the cleansing department and told them there was dog muck all over the street. She asked me if I knew where it came from

Re: Cleanest Streets

A big contribution to messy streets are the gobs of gum which end up ingrained in the pavement. These are impossible for street sweepers to remove. What a disgusting habit.

It's like that up our way at times. We always pick up after Max, but there are quite a few up our way who don't . I have yet to catch them and politely ask them if they want a bag as I always carry one or two. The are tarring responsible dog owners with the same brush.

You should try living on a private unmade road Frank where the dog wardens have little if any jurisdiction. There is dog muck everywhere and sometimes the owners leave the full bags lying around too despite there being a dog bin only a few yards away. I wouldn't even mind if they put the bags in my bin which is in the front garden. But catching anyone in the act? Impossible!

Totally agree with you .There is a dirt track just past our house leading up to High Riley Cottages and a dog poo bin about 50 yards up the track. There is always a lot of dog muck around the bin. The owners are too lazy to pick up or think "It doesn't matter up the track." That track is walked by a lot of people with or without dogs, we know the responsible dog owners around us and none of us catch the culprits.

Yes our road has been there since 1879 when the houses were one of the first terraces in Morecambe. It's still a dirt track which is good in some ways as it stops vehicles using it, as it is a through route from the prom to the church.

However the appearance of the road means the lowlifes who don't pick up their dog poo think it doesn't matter even though the road is used by a lot of young children who live here and play out in safety because its nice and quiet.

Let's not talk dog muck, unfortunately the swear checker won't allow me to talk (****),

If we want clean streets, we need to kill not the dog's but the owners that say poochie is wonderful and should be allowed to crap wherever I take him.
