Coming down like stair rods!
I've just been out by the shed, pootling about out there doing nothing in particular, sun shining down on me and feeling quite warm.
Came inside, got books out to do a bit of accounting and suddenly thought "It seems very dark" - looked up out the window and the heavens opened. The rain is teeming down in sheer vertical streams with such velocity that it's bouncing back up from the ground again by a good six inches. I should have known it was too good to be true.

Re: Coming down like stair rods!
yea i had the back door open for our sam (my dog) who was quite enjoying the sun (whilst i cleaned the cooker) then he came rushing in like his tail was on fire it was the sheer force of the rain. it was like a river flowing down here .

Even I might give watering the hanging baskets a miss today.

I saw your mum in her garden last week. Next time I'm going to stop the car and ask her to move your birthday to December 9th.

Re: Coming down like stair rods!
At last, a thread I can post my weather complaints on (continue to get "timed out" in the Weather thread) !
It continues VERY hot and extremely dry here. Between the orchard, grapes, blueberries, landscaping , and garden plants, I'm spending many hours evry day watering. It has been atrocious. The insects are sucking me plants dry as their only source of water.
Silver lining, at least I haven't needed to mow grass in 3 weeks. It is very sad over here in tis regard!
Burnt Brian
