Tell you what mate, next time I'm over I'll have a look for you. No real experience mind, but when we were on "Snow Queen" the troops would come waltzing into the Med centre, see yours truly in uniform (despite the glaringly obvious Rikshaws, Cabs & Taxis shoulder flashes) they then proceed to tell me about their woes, itches & other ickky stuff! Course being the ameanable soul I is, I'd hear them out, then either snort with merriment, chuckle or outright widdle me'sen at their misfortunes! I'd then whip out me "Housewife", start licking the thread before trying to shove it through a whopping great darning needle, while espousing my "considered opinion" about treatment required.


It was usually at this point the M.O. next door who'd been earwigging my "Professional (Drivers) opinion" & I would be summoned & given the lecture on undermining medical confidence ..... or they ran screaming from the Med centre vowing never to come back again while that "Psycho" was on duty.


Like I say, don't know much, but success rate in clearing a waitng room full of the sick, lame & lazy ..... outstanding!

A pharmacist does not have the luxury of your medical records and although highly trained, they are not Doctors.
The same with paramedics….and nurse practitioners….they do not have the depth of training to do the job of a doctor.

I rarely go to see a doctor, but if the need arose then I would want to see someone who had all my medical history to refer to.

I actually made my Doctor and Consultants to make me aware of changes. They send you things via NHS Portal. I ring chemist and speak to the pharmacist, I make him aware of changes to my meds and treatment. Simply because they are people who you can talk to. I must have a good one. In the last 2 years he's called me on multiple occasions, aswel as emailing my doctor. He's able to contact the surgery easier. Depends who use.

Yes Odders, it is dependent on which practice you are at.
And I am sure your health needs are complex(from what you told us when you came back to the forum).
My daughter has a life limiting illness…..and her experiences have been the polar opposite of yours….it has all been a bit of a trial.
I am glad that you have not had this kind of experience….that you have been looked after well.
There are not many who can say that in the current situation.

Someone might know more than you, but miss something that means your illness is something serious….something life changing or life shortening.

its what is known as despiration. both me and her in the kitching have been told we need a review by the pharmacy for our tablets once they run out before christmas. paid in all our lives for what. someone who cannot be bothered answering the phone and flatly refuse to give you an appointment if you walk in. bet the dinghy divers and our other friends do not have this problem.

I posted this way back when the pandemic was part way through.
Today I read that SAGE…..the body that is advising the government has said we need to be prepared for curbs(due to the virus) to continue for five years.
So if you count those five years from the start of this pandemic…..that will be March 2025.

I am not clairvoyant, I am not a seer into the future…..I read this in government documentation.
So how is that then?

just heard this morning that doctors can now put back patiants for other illnesses so they can joint the jabbers. next thing will be specialists in hospitals cancelling appointments to join this army. said it months and months back that the NHS is becoming a one illness service and my crystal ball seems to be working fine.

No coincidence that near us a brand new Private GPS practice has opened up with a fanfare of advertising.
Governments can no longer afford socialised medicines, not least because less and less money can be raised in taxes (it’s offshore, in tax havens, so the elite can get ever richer), everything from stupidity to sniffles is being medicalised, and, as anyone with any sense will know, pouring more and more billions into the likes of the NHS will achieve less and less. Except maybe, as seen this week, the NHS advertising for yet more Diversity Managers on £90K.

Think of what could be achieved in front line services with that kind of money…..but frontline service do not fit the increasingly woke agenda.
A bit like the Royal College of Midwives designating mother’s as ‘post natal people’ for fear of upsetting the trans lobby.
I would just like to know how many women, who identify as men, have become pregnant and had babies.
Yes I know there are a few, but does this mean that printed literature should cancel out the majority of these ‘post natal people’ who are women and identify as women.

I know that those who have changed gender need to be respected, but not at the cost of the vast majority who are offended by the removal of the title ‘mother’.

There appears to be very little sense in this crazy world.

A sad fact of life that is not accepted these days is….sometimes things will offend you.
It is inevitable that you will not subscribe to all that goes on.
But for goodness sake if you are going to be offended, be offended by something that matters….like the two evil people who abused and tortured a six year old.
Be offended by the 31 men who groomed and sexually abused young white girls in Hessle.

Be offended by something important.
If you choose to change gender, then you choose to take on the difficulties that that choice entails….and one of them is that you no longer belong to your biological identity.
If you cannot handle that, do not make this someone else’s problem to be pandered to.
