Is that you, your Worship, or is it the Malcolm Pritchard who 'knows' Malcolm Pritchard?

Whoever it is I hope your year is as thrilling as your journey to becoming the mayor has been.

What a pathetic response... I'm not local so not sure what's going on but are you the new Mayor?... I've read all way through the thread without comment but that post is a classic.

Though I rather fear history may remember you for being a pawn in a political game, and someone who sold his principles for some perceived glittering prize, rather than for all the good work you've done.

Re: Councillor Britcliffe Called off the AGM

it cant be him surely ?

no way has he yet finished pulling the daggers out of the backs of his constituants

edit:

ya know somthing with all that has come to light i hope the papers run a more detailed story exposing this chirade and demands he step down as mayor effective imidiatly as he is nothing more than a public disgrace and an embarrassment to hyndburn .

Re: Councillor Britcliffe Called off the AGM

Maybe the Tories don't post on here because they are all spineless as was demonstrated yesterday when Tory members who have openly said that they did not want Malcolm Pritchard as Mayor voted for him

Oh absolutely, Bernard. The novelty of a coalition government will probably have worn off by the next round of local elections and despite the majorities that David Cameron and Peter Britcliffe would like us to think they have, they're hardly running away with it as it stands.

Still, there's a good old fashioned get out clause for all situations should things get desperate:

"It was the previous administration's fault, don't blame us."

Peter Britcliffe used it yesterday to justify the thin year we're about to have, despite the fact that his party are now in control both here and in Westminster and a new age of prosperity looms before us. There'll probably be enough in the pot for some nice new projects in Oswaldtwistle though, so we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

It's lazy politics for anyone with half an eye on the ball.

You seem to be forgetting that Cllr Storey voted for John Broadley!

It was nice while it lasted....

Yes that was a Freudian slip -wonder if she will be punished for it.

It is very convenient when you can change your mind on a recorded vote, bet none of us would have been allowed too.

I have requested a list of the how members cast their recorded votes.

To get a measure of the man who writes the songs for Hyndburn, take a look at his homepage:

Councillor Peter Britcliffe - Home

He hasn't looked like that for 20 years.

At least his last post actually seemed to be by Mayor Pritchard. Unlike his earlier posts, in which he spoke of himself in the third person, and says he 'knows' himself, which is most handy.

I'm sure the whole Borough will be looking forward to seeing Cllr. Pritchard enthroned at the mayor making ceremony.

It'll probably be the best remembered occasion since the one when the viaduct was hung in protest banners, outraged at who was being made mayor that eventful day.

Perhaps Cllr. Pritchard won't even wear the historic chains of office after all.

At this very minute there could be a jeweller, busily beavering away, fashioning a new chain, out of the thirty pieces of silver.

Let's put all that aside, and wish him well.

After three.

One, two, three.

'For he's a jolly good fellow.
For he's a ....'

Nevermind then, have it your own way.

Oh dearie me.

It appears that his Worship, our new mayor, has more than the two personalities that we knew about. There are three!

Considering the organ grinder he's now performing for, it's more than a little ironic that in this post he rubbishes Cllr. Britcliffe, and gives himself a pat on the back.

What was I saying, about knowing the rules of war, before rushing headlong into the melee?

It's O.K. rindy, he isn't breaking any of his own rules, so he'll sleep well at night.

Unless he gets a visit from the Ghosts of the Three Mayors of Hyndburn, Past, Present and Future to show him the errors of his ways.

(He should get on quite well with the ghost of Mayor present after all he already knows him extremely well.)
